Making Of Spring 2019 Table Decor Collection

The Making Of Spring 2019 Collection

The great culinary genius Julia Child was once quoted saying, “A party without cake is just a meeting.” I would like to add a riff on this quotation by stating the following: “A dinner table that’s not dressed in linens and napkins is but a mere piece of furniture.”
This is why each season we like to share with you beautiful new tabletop pieces to help you create chic settings. This isn’t to say that all your tables should be of the grand variety. Or that you should cast away what you have previously bought to make room for new ones.

Just as you would decorate your home with pieces collected over time, we want you to dress your tables with elements from various seasons. As in previous collections, there is also a wanderlust thread to spring 2019 with Spain and Italy providing starting points for designs. The Seville collection of placemats, runner and coasters borrows its colors from Spanish dance costumes and the Amalfi blends the coastline’s blue waters and red corals into a degrade placemat.

So, I encourage you to have fun with your tables. To run away with a theme or to mix and match. Let’s party!

—— BEHIND THE SCENES ——

Seville

The Spanish city of Seville with its Moorish influences and rich history of flamenco dancing is the inspiration for this mini collection. Multi-color hand-dyed glass beads, a layering of sequins, and cording techniques on tile-like shapes make for vibrant colorful pieces. With its interconnected quatrefoil, the placemat is a true standout

Konark

The design of the Konark Placemat harkens back to the stain glass windows of a Gothic cathedral or the setting of a medieval jewel. Ivory and beige resin is hand-poured on a placemat base then overlaid with a sheet of laser cut metal boasting geometric shapes. The brass toned metal gives the resin a tile effect, while hand poured resin cabochons adorn the border, making this placemat jewelry for the table.

Bloom

Just as the name suggests, this collection borrows its shape from flowers. However, instead of colorful petals, we made it in monochromatic silver for a dazzling effect. Glass bugle beads are arranged in staggered effect to form a multi-petal flower placemat and runner. To compliment these pieces is the Bloom Napkin Ring, which looks like an arctic flower with its quartz points, and the glamorous dragonfly-inspired Nymph Napkin Ring.
